What
we/educate provides a well-rounded Teacher Training Program for teacher trainees with refugee backgrounds. The program consists of specialised TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), Teaching Techniques, Lesson Planning, Classroom Management and Leadership modules.
Our trainees finish the program with a certified TEFL qualification, enabling them to confidently and successfully teach students from their community as well as others.

Who
Our program is catered to trainees from refugee backgrounds and diverse mother tongues. Thus, being in the best position to teach and support students who share their experiences as well as their language. Together with the trainees, we/educates aims at training teachers who are reflective of their student body. 
We/educate is recruiting candidates who either have a background in education or are wanting to pursue a career in the field of education.With the course’s globally recognised status this also opens doors to the possibility of further employment within the e-learning space, or should they move on from Greece, offers them a qualification which is internationally recognised.

Why
Adjusting to a new life is extremely hard and made even harder when a common language does not exist. As teachers, we’ve seen first hand the difficulties students  face when trying to learn a new language. This is partly due to the fact that most of the teachers do not share their students’ first language. Research shows that students are far more successful at learning a new language  when being taught by teachers who share their native language. Therefore, having more qualified TEFL teachers working within their communities,  does not only help create job prospects for those that take the course but also raises job prospects for those that attend the lessons. 

Through this program we/educate wants to foster more sustainability and representation as well as successfully champion local potential.
