Robert Gerald Porter has a long and varied work experience. Robert Gerald began their career in 1992 as a WOAA Softball Umpire for the Western Ontario Athletic Association. In 2001, they took on the role of Web Editor for the McMaster Student Union. From 2002 to 2010, they worked for the Canadian Centres for Teaching Peace, first as a Mentor and then as a Regional Coordinator. In 2004, they held three positions at McMaster University, as a Teaching Assistant, Dance Instructor (East Coast Swing) and Theatre Technician's Assistant. Robert Gerald also worked as the Artistic & Administrative Director for the McMaster Summer Drama Festival Company. In 2007, they became a Consultant for Holden Creative and in 2010 they were appointed Chief Technology and Culture Officer at CartaNova Design & Consulting. Finally, from 2011 to the present, they have served as R&D Director, Director of Engineering, Chief Innovation Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Weever, where they are responsible for identifying strategies, developing processes and new technologies, as well as identifying risks that could reduce future technical capabilities. Robert Gerald has worked with big industrial partners such as Unilever, Georgia-Pacific, 3M, Bell Canada and Xerox.
Robert Gerald Porter attended McMaster University from 1998 to 2002 where they obtained a B.A. in Music. Robert Gerald then returned to McMaster University from 2002 to 2005, where they obtained a B.A. in Theatre & Film Studies and Peace Studies.
