David Coates completed a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Canterbury from1985 to 1988. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Technology Management at Deakin University from 1994 to 1998.
