Ken Chen

Ken Chen has extensive experience in the legal field, with their most recent role being Group General Counsel & Company Secretary at WeLab since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of Legal at Guotai Junan International from August 2016 to June 2021, and as the Head of Legal at UBS (China) Limited from May 2014 to August 2016. Before joining UBS, Ken held the position of Executive Director at Goldman Sachs from May 2011 to April 2014 and Vice President at Morgan Stanley from June 2008 to May 2011. Ken started their career as a Negotiator at HSBC from 2006 to 2008 and also worked as a registered foreign lawyer at Heller Ehrman from March 2002 to March 2006.

Ken Chen completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in Law from Sun Yat-sen University, which they attended from 1995 to 1999. Ken then pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Law from The University of Manchester from 2000 to 2001. In 2001, they attended the College of Law, where they obtained a Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) in Law. From 2002 to 2004, Ken Chen studied at the City University of Hong Kong, completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) in Law.
