Gary Scholten has extensive experience in leadership roles within the technology and financial sectors. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at Wellabe since March 2022, Gary Scholten also holds the position of Industry Research Fellow at the MIT Center for Information Systems Research since October 2020. Previously, from November 2002 to June 2020, Gary served as Executive Vice President at Principal Financial Group, where responsibilities included Information Technology, Enterprise Strategy, Sourcing & Supplier Management, and oversight of HR. Gary Scholten has also been involved with the Technology Association of Iowa as a member of the Board of Directors from 2006 to March 2020, and held the titles of Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President. Gary Scholten earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Northern Iowa between 1976 and 1980.
