Brian Quinn

Chief Executive Officer at WellFish Diagnostics

Brian Quinn has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Brian is currently the Chief Executive Officer of WellFish Diagnostics, where they lead a team in developing non-lethal, blood-based testing for fish health assessment in the aquaculture industry. Prior to this, they were the CEO/Founder of the same company.

Before joining WellFish Diagnostics, Brian worked at the University of the West of Scotland as a Professor, starting in January 2018. Prior to that, they held the position of Lecturer at the same university from May 2013 to September 2021.

In 2012, Brian served as an Adjunct Lecturer at NUI Galway for a period of two years.

From 2008 to 2013, they worked at both the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology and the Irish Centre for Environmental Toxicology. At the former, they held the role of Principal Investigator, overseeing a large-scale 5-year environmental toxicology project funded by the Irish EPA. Brian was also involved in student supervision, lab method development, budget management, and reporting. At the latter organization, they served as the Director/Principal Investigator.

Brian also has experience in the hospitality industry, having held the role of Company Director and Secretary at the Fairways Hotel & Conference Centre in Dundalk, Co. Louth, Ireland from November 2005 to June 2007.

Brian Quinn earned a BSc in Marine & Environmental Biology from the University of St Andrews, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Following this, they pursued a PhD in Environmental Toxicology at Trinity College Dublin from 1999 to 2002.
