Jonathon Winder

CEO at Wellflix

Jon is an experienced media and adult learning executive and change agent with 25 years of media and publishing experience, primarily in education. His particular focus over the last 12 years has been creating innovative approaches to adult learning enabled by technology.

Jon’s publishing-media experience began as an economic journalist at (then) Citibank in New York City. He joined Harvard Business School Publishing in 1995, the non-profit media and publishing arm of Harvard Business School responsible for extending the impact of ideas developed by the Faculty. He started the subscription newsletter business and then oversaw the development of the online management development product phenomenon, Harvard ManageMentor – a breakthrough technology product that facilitates management learning throughout a company, using the company’s intranet. He left as Senior Vice president and became a consultant to, and then EVP at Teachscape, a technology-based adult learning offering for public school teachers, using video-based best-practices case studies.

He served as lead investor and Chairman of the monthly publication Technology Horizons in Education, negotiating its sale in 2005. Subsequently, he built the internet business for a Boston-based magazine publisher. Most recently, Jon has served as CEO of the educational publisher Axzo Press, which he has stepped back from to devote his time to Wellflix.

Prior experience includes developing long-term strategic partnerships for the Walt Disney Company, leading to license revenue in excess of half a billion dollars. He started his career as a consultant with McKinsey and Company.

He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an economics degree from Princeton University. He speaks French fluently and has published and spoken on digital media evolution.
