Derek Boulware

Derek Boulware has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Derek is currently the Director of Commercial Integration at Welligence Energy Analytics, where they focus on integrating the company's product and teams into client businesses to drive product adoption and client retention. Prior to this, Derek was the Vice President and Head of Africa Research at Welligence, leading the research team focused on upstream and energy transition-focused market intelligence in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Before joining Welligence, Derek co-founded two companies, CV Sharks and Resume Sharks, where they helped individuals develop their unique narrative and showcased it on a platform. Derek also worked as a Senior Manager at Monitor Deloitte, specializing in strategy consulting for the African oil & gas industry. At PwC South Africa, Derek held multiple roles, including Africa Energy Consulting Team Lead and Senior Manager of Africa Energy Consulting, where they consulted with clients across the energy value chain throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

Derek's earlier career includes roles at Wood Mackenzie, where they served as a Senior Petroleum Economist and a Client Training Consultant. Derek was responsible for accurate tax calculations and providing training to global clients in the upstream, coal, and metals sectors. Derek also worked as a Sales Representative and International Market Entry Specialist at SPIR STAR Ltd., managing new market entry in the Americas and providing sales and product training.

Additionally, Derek worked at Camden Property Trust as a Leasing Consultant, Bookkeeper, and Acting Assistant Manager, handling sales and marketing of properties and financial management aspects. Derek began their career as an Administrative Assistant at Neuhaus Education Center.

During the same period, they also completed a Master of International Business degree in International Business from the University of St. Thomas (TX).

In addition to their formal education, Derek Boulware has obtained two certifications in diving. Derek became an Open Water Diver from PADI in December 1996 and later advanced to an Advanced Open Water Diver in February 2010.
