Sam Rastin

Sam Rastin has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. Sam is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer at Welligence Energy Analytics since November 2021. Prior to that, they founded Avin Peak LLC and served as a Technology consultant and startup advisor from May 2017.

Sam also held several positions at Benefits Data Trust, including Director of Software Engineering, Acting Chief Technology Officer, and Director of Technology from January 2020 to March 2021. In their role, they guided technical direction, expanded the team, utilized cloud communication services to create AI-enabled smart chatbots, consolidated technology solutions, and oversaw cross-organization processes.

Before that, they worked as the Director of Software Engineering at A.C. Moore from September 2017 to November 2018. At Sidecar, they held the positions of Director of Engineering from January 2014 to May 2017 and Engineering Lead from June 2010 to December 2013. During their time at Sidecar, they led the development of the company's flagship product, established customer reporting solutions, and developed applications using software design patterns.

Earlier in their career, Sam worked at Greenhorne & O'Mara as an Applications Developer II from August 2004 to May 2010. Sam also founded 57th Avenue Advertising LLC and served as President/Founder from September 2004 to March 2005. Sam worked as a Software Developer II at Michael Baker International from February 2004 to August 2004 and as a Web Developer at Dewberry from July 2000 to February 2004.

Additionally, Sam started their career as a Research Fellow at National Defense University from January 2000 to October 2000. Throughout their career, Sam has gained experience in various roles, focusing on technology consulting, software engineering, and leadership positions.

Sam Rastin attended The George Washington University from 1995 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, specifically in the field of General Biology. In 2001, they briefly attended the University of Maryland Global Campus to pursue a field of study in Graphic Design, although it is not specified if they obtained a degree in this discipline.
