Mike Hansen

Mike Hansen is a Product Development Engineer at Wellman, starting in January 2020. Mike is also a Production Manager at the same company. At WDC Acquisition LLC, where Mike has been working since May 2018, Mike holds the position of Advanced Technology Engineer. In their role, Mike focuses on reducing dimensional and metallurgical variances of sand casting, and improving gating and riser systems for defect-free solidification. Mike started their career at Fansteel, Inc in January 2006 as a Layout Tech and later became a Layout Tech II. In these positions, Mike used various techniques to qualify tooling, check dimensional tolerances, and handle calibrations of gages plant-wide. Mike also worked as a Fixture Tech, ensuring dimensional accuracy of magnesium and aluminum castings. Mike holds an Associate's degree in Applied Science in Mechanical Technology from Iowa Western Community College.
