Erik Hamnes started their career in 1982 as the Owner/Operator of Hamnes Farms Inc., where they managed a 3000+ acre family farm. Erik then worked as a Physical Therapist at Baptist Hospital from 1997 to 2000. From 2000 to 2005, they served as the Executive Vice President at Easter Seals Tennessee. In 2005, Erik joined Vanderbilt University as the Director of Rehabilitation, managing therapy services. Erik then transitioned to AMSURG in 2012, starting as the Regional Vice President - Operations. Throughout their tenure at AMSURG, Erik held various roles of increasing responsibility, culminating in their position as the Senior Division Vice President - Operations. In this role, they led a region of 62 Ambulatory Surgery Centers and developed budgets, analyzed performance, and modified operations. In 2023, Erik joined Wellpath as the SVP of Operations for Local Government.
Erik Hamnes holds a BS degree in Agriculture from North Dakota State University, which they obtained from 1982 to 1988. Erik then pursued their MPT degree in Physical Therapy from The University of Texas Medical Branch, completing it from 1993 to 1996. Lastly, they attended Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management, where they earned an EMBA degree in Business from 2009 to 2011.
