Renee Prew

Renee Prew has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. Renee began their career as a Psychology Intern at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where they provided individual and group psychotherapy to adult inpatients and outpatients. Renee also conducted personality, cognitive, and neuropsychological evaluations. After their internship, they worked as a Neuropsychological Technician at Neuropsychology Consulting Services/Medical Center of Independence, where they administered and scored neuropsychological and psychological assessments for clients with various conditions, including traumatic brain injuries and learning disabilities. Renee then joined Correct Care Solutions as a Clinical Supervisor and TRU Program Manager, where they oversaw the Mental Health Department at the Lansing Correctional Facility. Renee provided supervision to staff, developed programs, and offered training and consultation services. During their time there, they also provided direct clinical services, including individual and group therapy and crisis intervention. Prew currently holds the position of Mental Health Director at Wellpath, where they are responsible for the clinical and administrative aspects of the Mental Health Department at Johnson County Adult Detention Center. Renee supervises staff, provides training and consultation to security and healthcare personnel, and offers direct clinical services, such as crisis intervention and psychotherapy.

Renee Prew received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Arizona State University in 1994. Renee then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2001. In addition, they hold additional certifications including being a Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care and being a Licensed Psychologist in Kansas from the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
