Christine Cassel

‍Christine Cassel, MD is senior advisor on strategy and policy for the Department of Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco. Previously she was Planning Dean of the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine and served on the Board of the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals. She has been a leader in geriatric medicine, biomedical ethics and quality of care. Dr. Cassel was President & CEO of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Quality Forum, and a longstanding member of the National Academy of Medicine. She served under two U.S. Presidents as a member of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology and the President’s Advisory Commission on Consumer Protection and Quality in the Healthcare Industry.
