Travis Mitchell

Travis Mitchell currently serves as the Senior Director of System Patient Safety at WellSpan Health, where responsibilities include overseeing the patient safety program across nine hospitals and over 200 outpatient sites in south central Pennsylvania. Previously, Travis held the role of Director of Quality, Safety, and Health Information Management at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, managing various operational aspects including patient safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance, while also co-leading COVID vaccination efforts. Prior experience includes managing patient safety programs at MedStar Health and serving as System EMS Coordinator at Bon Secours Health System, focusing on improving EMS relationships and patient outcomes. Travis began a career at UVA Health System as a Senior Medical Transport Coordinator. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology and English from the University of Virginia.
