Demitra Green has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Demitra started their career as a Home Health Aide at Americare Professionals in 1999 and continued in this role until 2002. Demitra then moved on to Christus St. Elizabeth where they worked as a Phlebotomist from 2002 to 2005. Following this, Demitra joined Southeast Texas Medical Associates as a Laboratory Supervisor from 2005 to 2006. Demitra then worked at the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center as a Laboratory Specialist from 2006 to 2018. In 2017, they took on a role as an Administrator, Community Liaison, and End-of-Life Doula at Sunshiny Days LLC, where they worked until February 2022. From December 2020 onwards, Demitra has worked as an Independent Contractor, providing services as an End-of-Life Doula and Healing Touch Practitioner. Currently, they are employed at Wellthy, where they hold the position of a Care Coordinator.

Demitra Green pursued their education in a chronological manner, beginning with a Associate's of Applied Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist from Lamar State College Orange, which they obtained from 2002 to 2004. Demitra later attended LeTourneau University from 2015 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General. In 2017, they briefly enrolled at The Ohio State University College of Medicine to attain a Certificate of Gerontology, specializing in Geriatrics and Interprofessional Aging Studies.
