Andy Shields has a vast amount of work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Andy started their career in the Ministry of Defense as an Apprentice and Professional Technology Officer, where they gained experience in aircraft maintenance and management. Andy then moved on to BAE Systems, where they steadily advanced through various positions, ultimately directing in-service support teams for several aircraft models. After that, they worked at America West Airlines as an Engineering Manager and Structures Group Lead, responsible for fleet planning, FAA relations, and contract negotiations. Andy then joined US Airways as a Senior Engineering/Fleet Manager, overseeing a fleet of aircraft and managing maintenance and modification programs. Following that, they worked at Mesa Airlines as the Director of Engineering and Technical Programs, where they had overall responsibility for technical resource management and achieved full FAA compliance. Andy then moved to Honeywell Aerospace, first as an Airbus Operations Senior Manager, then as the Director of Technical Operations Center, and finally as the Senior Director of Technical Operations. In these roles, they oversaw operations, implemented program standards, and achieved management goals. Most recently, Andy Shields has been working at Wencor Group as the Vice President of Aviation Compliance, responsible for the PMA business, including market research, engineering, supply chain, and sales. Andy also managed production facilities and FAA approved repair shops. Overall, Andy Shields has had a successful career in various leadership positions within the aerospace industry.
Andy Shields obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (hons) degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of the West of England between 1991 and 1996. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business at Heriot-Watt University from 2001 to 2003.
