Terry Denson

Terry Denson is the current CEO at WePlayed, a social/video digital platform. Prior to their current position, Denson served as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at WePlayed from January 2017 to March 2020. In this role, they worked with the CEO and President to set and execute product, content, and go-to-market strategies; business models; and user-experience. Terry also was responsible for identifying and closing strategic partnerships, as well as evaluating growth-trends and market shifts across Direct-to-Consumer digital video, sports media, OTT, virtual MVPDs and social/video applications.

Before their time at WePlayed, Denson served as Vice President Content Strategy and Acquisition at Verizon from January 2004 to December 2016. In this role, they were responsible for the creation and execution of content strategy for all Verizon platforms including FiOS TV, go90, Oath (formerly AOL), Complex Networks and Verizon Digital Media Services. Terry also oversaw all content acquisition for FiOS TV, go90 and Oath, working with major content providers such as Viacom, Disney/ABC, NBCUniversal, Fox, CBS, Turner, A+E Networks, Hearst Television and many others.

Denson began their career in the media industry as Director Of Business Development at MTV NETWORKS in January 2000. In this role, they negotiated strategic alliances with companies such as Apple, Microsoft, AOL, Yahoo!, Sony Electronics and IBM.
