Allie Obermeyer

Co-founder at Werewool

Allie Obermeyer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Columbia University since January 2017, focused on research that combines chemistry, biology, and materials science to enhance human health and address climate change challenges. In addition, Allie Obermeyer co-founded Werewool in 2022, an innovative biotech company developing biodegradable fibers with unique, DNA-programmed properties for the textile sector. Prior experience includes serving as an Arnold O. Beckman Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2016 and as a Graduate Research Fellow at UC Berkeley from 2008 to 2013, following contributions as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Rice University from 2006 to 2008. Allie Obermeyer holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Rice University.
