Werkr Tractors’ mission is to provide farmers with a cost effective, battery-electric tractor that features a simple right-to-repair model and autonomy-optional capabilities that can be updated as autonomy technology evolves.

The Werkr Tractor project is responding to challenges in the agricultural sector including a movement towards a more judicious use of herbicides, leaving farmers looking for alternatives to weed management; labour issues including shortages and rising costs; and environmental and economical concerns related to fossil fuel use. 

Werkr’s values include environmental sustainability, efficiency, quality, and right-to-repair. Werkr’s vision is to offer farmers an entry point to robotics with a seamless transition between manual and autonomous modes. The Werkr ecosystem includes a suite of implements to support the work farmers are doing and provides data collection that can potentially be shared, creating a network of collaboration. Werkr is a small start-up in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. The team includes engineers, business and farmer advisors.
