Simone Basso has extensive work experience in the technology and product development field. Simone is currently serving as the Chief Product and Technology Officer at WeRoad, a position they started in November 2022. In addition, they are also working as a Tech and Product Advisor.
Prior to their current roles, Simone held the position of Chief Product and Technology Officer at Indie Campers from June 2021 to August 2022. During their time there, they oversaw operations spanning 14 European countries and was physically present in over 40 cities.
Before joining Indie Campers, Simone worked at GetYourGuide as the Director of Engineering, Marketplace from June 2018 to May 2021. Simone played a critical role in scaling the Marketplace team and implementing a Service Oriented Architecture.
Simone's experience also includes positions at JUST EAT, where they served as the Head of Technology for various product divisions. Simone managed a large team of engineers, testers, product managers, and delivery managers.
Earlier in their career, Simone worked at DMGT plc as a Technical Product Lead, where they focused on improving and architecting solutions for estate agents. Simone also worked as the Lead Developer at Media Burn, leading the development of a social network website for book readers that was eventually sold to HarperCollins.
Simone started their career at Altitudo, where they worked as a Developer on various content management and e-commerce projects.
Throughout their career, Simone has demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and expertise in technology and product development.
Simone Basso attended ITIS Barsanti from 1995 to 2000, where they obtained a degree in IT and Telecommunications with a focus on Computer Science. Simone also obtained additional certifications from Microsoft, including MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional.
