Brian Mathis is an accomplished sales and operations professional with extensive experience in the retail sector. Currently serving as Regional Sales Manager at Weruva International, Inc. since March 2021, Brian previously held the position of District/Store Leader at Petco from November 2010 to October 2019, where notable accomplishments included managing 68 boutique stores and achieving a company-high 15% positive comp through effective change management. Prior to that, Brian spent over 17 years at Albertsons, progressing from Store Manager to Operations Assistant Store Manager and earning the General Manager of the Year Award in 1997 for exceptional performance in sales, shrink reduction, and margin improvement. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Midwestern State University, completed between 1989 and 1991.

Weruva International was founded in 2006, a few years after David and Stacie rescued their first cat, Rudi, from the streets of NYC. Because of their love and affection for animals, one rescued cat soon became three, and WeRuVa was born. Weruva produces high-quality pet foods for the independent pet channel (distributed globally) and from our humble beginnings, we’ve grown our market share to number one within our food category. To this day, Weruva remains a family company, wholly owned and operated by David and Stacie Forman.
