Cynthia Greenleaf is a Senior Research Scientist at the Strategic Literacy Initiative/WestEd, a role held since April 2019, and has been affiliated with WestEd since 1995. As a co-founder and former director of the Reading Apprenticeship program, Cynthia developed professional development for secondary and community college instructors, created academic literacy curriculum, and conducted extensive research on the program's impact. With a focus on disciplinary literacy, Cynthia has transitioned from leadership roles to concentrate on writing and research development. Cynthia earned a PhD in Language and Literacy Education from the University of California, Berkeley, between 1982 and 1990.
