Gretchen Wright

Gretchen Wright is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in strategic communications and public relations, predominantly within the nonprofit sector. Currently serving as the Director of Strategic Communications at WestEd since May 2022, Gretchen has previously held similar leadership roles at the Southern Education Foundation, Emory University - Goizueta Business School, and the Learning Policy Institute. Prior to these positions, Gretchen spent many years at PR Solutions, a women-owned public relations firm, where expertise was developed in advocating for women's issues and social justice. Early career roles included deputy press secretary at NARAL Pro-Choice America and fundraising assistant at Planned Parenthood of Mid-Michigan. Gretchen holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Michigan, and educational foundations were established at the American School of The Hague and Rabat American School.
