John Brauer

John Brauer is a seasoned professional in workforce and economic development, currently serving as the Senior Program Manager for Workforce and Economic Development at WestEd, where they focus on enhancing social mobility for low-income individuals. Previously, John held the position of Executive Director at the California Labor Federation from 2012 to 2023 and spent over a decade as the Executive Director of The Workforce Collaborative from 2001 to 2012. Additionally, they worked as a Base Conversion Homeless Coordinator with Alameda County from 1995 to 2001. John has also undertaken consulting work as a Workforce Development Specialist since 2023. They obtained their education from Cal State Hayward between 1988 and 1991.
