Western Balkans Untangled is an independent platform targeting all those people interested in the region but with limited knowledge of it. Through short articles, it aims to create awareness about the main political, economic, and social developments in the Western Balkan countries.

Covering Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, on Western Balkans Untangled, you will find articles with very specific topics, which will provide you with a clear understanding of the causes and consequences of past events and present developments.

The Western Balkans have been increasingly present in news outlets and (geo)political discussions, mainly because of their path towards becoming Member States of the European Union. Nevertheless, the general public outside the region often has limited knowledge of its history, present politics, and technical information about EU accession and governance structures. Western Balkans Untangled aims to be a reliable platform for gaining basic knowledge and understanding more complex information surrounding the region.
