Dan Sumner is Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Westinghouse Electric Company.

Mr. Sumner has 15 years of experience at Westinghouse. Previously as President of the Operating Plant Services business, Mr. Sumner led the strategic development and delivery of our products and services to the global nuclear operating fleet. From 2017 to 2023, he served as Westinghouse Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Global Finance & Strategy and was instrumental in the strategic repositioning of the company. Mr. Sumner has also held key financial, strategic and transformational leadership roles such as Vice President of Finance, Chief Compliance Officer, Head of Enterprise Risk Management, and Director of Corporate Audit.

Prior to his tenure at Westinghouse, Mr. Sumner worked for Alcoa as a member of the corporate audit staff. He began his career in the banking industry.

Mr. Sumner holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Grove City College. He also graduated from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz School of Business with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program. Additionally, Mr. Sumner has earned executive certificates from Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management in the areas of leadership, strategic decision making, and risk management.
