Marcel Riou

Marcel Riou is an experienced pilot with a robust background in both military and commercial aviation. Serving as a pilot at WestJet since August 2007, Marcel brings extensive experience from a 20-year career with the Department of National Defence (DND) from 1987 to 2007, where responsibilities included serving as a Crew Commander on the CP-140 Aurora, instructing on the same aircraft, and acting as the Senior Pilot at the Maritime Proving & Evaluation Unit, overseeing operational test and evaluation missions. Additionally, Marcel held the role of Deputy Commanding Officer, managing unit budget and forecasting. Marcel obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Military History and International Relations from the Royal Military College of Canada/Collège militaire royal du Canada from 1987 to 1992.
