Grant Fleming

Grant Fleming is the Head of External Relations at Westpac New Zealand Limited, overseeing media, social media, government relations and sustainability teams. They have a background as a journalist and political adviser, and previously served as Senior Political Reporter for the New Zealand Press Association from 2003 to 2009 and as Press Secretary to Hon Bill English from 2009 to 2012. They also worked as a Crime Reporter for The Evening Post from 2000 to 2002 and as a Health Reporter for The Dominion Post from 2002 to 2003, began their career as a Reporter at City Voice from 1999 to 2000, and earned a BA from the University of Canterbury (1990–1993) and a Graduate Diploma of Journalism from Massey University (2000). They have been a Board Member of the Westpac-Massey Fin Ed Centre since 2014. They were a Governance Group Member of the Sustainable Business Council from 2015 to 2018.
