Steve Anderssen is a seasoned executive in risk management, specializing in technology, cybersecurity, and data. Currently serving as Chief Risk Officer at Westpac since April 2020, Steve has held multiple leadership roles within the organization, focusing on technology and shared services. Prior experience includes serving as VP, Global Head of IT Risk at RBC and various roles at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and RBS Markets & International Banking, overseeing information security and technology risk. Earlier positions include Executive Manager of IT Security at Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Senior Advisor for IT Security Policy at the Attorney Generals. Steve began his career in the Department of Defence of Australia. Steve holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Nuclear Physics from The Australian National University.
