Westwind Brass: Inspiring Communities Through Dynamic Brass Performance & Education
Westwind Brass is San Diego’s premier professional brass ensemble, celebrated for its virtuosic artistry and diverse musical repertoire. We believe in the transformative power of live music to enrich lives, foster appreciation, and build stronger, more vibrant communities.
Our Expertise: Comprising highly talented musicians, Westwind Brass delivers unparalleled performances across a vast array of musical styles. From grand classical works and intricate chamber music to vibrant jazz, contemporary arrangements, and global selections, our repertoire transcends traditional expectations. We defy the notion that brass music is limited to marches, actively commissioning and premiering new works by American masters, showcasing the dynamic and evolving nature of brass as an art form. We bring music from medieval Europe to the American jazz era and beyond, engaging audiences with unique historical and cultural connections.
Impact Through Music: Beyond the stage, Westwind Brass is deeply committed to community engagement and education. Our “core” programming includes:
•	Public Concerts: Delivering captivating brass chamber music in museums, community centers, churches, libraries, and performing arts venues across San Diego.
•	Educational Outreach: Providing vital musical enrichment through lecture-demonstrations, interactive workshops, master classes, and our popular summer brass workshop. We actively serve city schools and senior centers, ensuring access to high-quality music education and experiences.
•	Therapeutic & Wellness Programs: Bringing uplifting performances to VA Medical Centers and assisted living facilities, recognizing music’s profound impact on well-being and morale.
We are proud to broaden and enrich the musical legacy of local, national, and international audiences. Our dedication to both artistic excellence and community impact is what sets Westwind Brass apart.
