Leon Woud has a diverse work experience in the field of 3D animation and technical direction. Leon started their career in 2007 as a freelance 3D generalist, specializing in character modeling, rigging, and tool development. In 2008, they joined Media Design School as a 3D lecturer, where they delivered and developed curriculum for various animation and game development programs. During this time, they also conducted research and development into new techniques and industries, managed students, and created unique tools and pipelines for productions. In 2012, Leon co-founded Ledaro, and in 2013, they started working at Weta Digital, initially as an Animation Technical Director and later transitioning to become the Lead Motion Research and Development Technical Director.
Leon Woud obtained a Diploma in 3D Animation from Media Design School in the year 2006. Following this, in 2007, they pursued an Advanced 3D Productions Graduate Diploma from the same educational institution.
