Barret Johnson

Barret Johnson serves as the VP, Global Head of Tax at WeWork since August 2021, overseeing all aspects of tax acquisition, planning, compliance, and risk management while managing a worldwide tax group. Prior to WeWork, Barret Johnson held the position of Chief Tax Officer at Element Solutions Inc from May 2018 to July 2021, directing global tax activities across multiple regions. From October 2005 to May 2018, Barret Johnson was Vice President, Chief Tax Counsel at Pitney Bowes Inc, managing tax professionals and strategic tax initiatives. Earlier roles include Director of Tax Analysis at Omnicom and Senior Manager of Tax Strategy at Merrill Lynch, with foundational experience as Tax Director at PwC. Barret Johnson holds an LLM from New York University School of Law, a JD from Marquette University Law School, and a BA in Accounting and Mathematics from Gustavus Adolphus College.
