Chris Byrd

Chris Byrd is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in healthcare and finance. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Healthcare at WEX since January 2001, Chris oversees government affairs and key benefits partnerships, and plays a crucial role in Health Savings Account (HSA) custody strategy and mergers and acquisitions related to benefits. As a co-founder of a leading SaaS and payments platform provider in the consumer health benefits sector, Chris has facilitated solutions for a variety of healthcare accounts. Prior to WEX, Chris co-founded Women's Health USA and was instrumental in establishing advanced infertility centers. Chris also held significant roles at Value Health, Inc., focusing on corporate finance and strategy, and at Shawmut National Corporation, where responsibilities included leveraged finance and credit policy. Chris holds an AB in Economics from Brown University, obtained in 1980.
