Patrick McKee

Patrick McKee has a diverse work experience in the field of meteorology and communications. Patrick is currently the Chief Meteorologist at WFXR since July 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Marketing & Communications Coordinator at Virginia Tech School of Plant and Environmental Sciences from August 2022 to August 2023. Before joining WFXR, Patrick spent a significant part of their career at WSLS 10, where they served in various roles including Producer, Special Project & Investigations, News Anchor, Meteorologist, and Freelance Meteorologist. Patrick was with WSLS 10 from December 2005 to August 2022. Their earlier experience includes working as the Chief Meteorologist at Kswo TV from August 2003 to August 2005, and as the Morning Meteorologist from June 2001 to August 2003.

Patrick McKee attended Elon University from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies. Following their time at Elon University, they went on to study at the University of North Carolina Asheville from 1999 to 2001, where they earned a Certificate of Major in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology.

In terms of additional certifications, Patrick McKee obtained a certification in "Advertising on Instagram" from LinkedIn in January 2023 and a certification in "Writing a Cover Letter" from LinkedIn in April 2022.
