Patrick Ashamalla

Patrick Ashamalla is the Vice President of Product Design at Whatfix. Prior to Whatfix, they served as the Senior Director of Product Design at SAP from February 2016 to August 2021. In this role, they led a team of 60+ UX Researchers and Product Designers in defining the Design Vision, Strategy and Principles that serve as the foundation for the fully-reimagined next generation of SAP SuccessFactors’ entire product portfolio.

Patrick implemented new research, strategy and design methods to drive rapid, test-driven innovation through increased customer and end-user engagement. Patrick also established processes to increase collaboration and alignment across UX, Product Management and Engineering. Under their leadership, the team shifted their focus to prioritize and deliver consumer-grade, mobile native solutions, which has enabled SAP SuccessFactors to simultaneously deliver features across iOS, Android and Responsive Web.

In addition, they led the team to define new UI Components and Interaction Patterns for the iOS and Android versions of our design system. Patrick established methods for other SAP lines of business to build off of what we defined in order to maintain consistency across the SAP product portfolio.
