Vara Kumar

CPTO & Co-Founder at Whatfix

Vara Kumar is the Co-Founder and CPTO of Whatfix. Vara was previously the Co-Founder and CTO of SearchEnabler, and before that, they worked as a System Architect at Huawei Technologies India Private Limited.

Kumar started their career as a Software Engineer at Huawei, working on Network Management solutions for WCDMA devices. Vara then transitioned to Business Intelligence and Packet Inspection products, taking on increasingly senior roles until they reached the position of System Architect.

In 2010, Kumar co-founded SearchEnabler, a SaaS SEO platform for SMEs. Vara architected and developed the platform, which grew to become a successful business. In 2013, Kumar left SearchEnabler to co-found Whatfix.

Whatfix is a software company that provides a platform to create interactive guides and walkthroughs for web applications. The company has raised over $50 million in funding from investors including Sequoia Capital India, eightroad ventures, and FTV Capital.

Vara Kumar has a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from NRK and KSR Gupta Degree College, and an Intermediate degree in Mathematics from VSR and NVR College. Vara is also Sun Certified Programmer for Java from Sun Microsystems.

Vara Kumar reports to Khadim Batti, CEO & Co-Founder. They are on a team with Mohit Jain - Associate Vice President, Global Consulting, Supriya Goswami - Vice President, Product Marketing, and Vipul Gupta - Marketing.
