Alan Ren

Alan Ren is a seasoned software engineer currently working at Whatnot in the Seller Growth organization since October 2022. Previously, Alan contributed to the commerce organization at Meta from August 2020 to October 2022, focusing on onboarding flows and backend platform development for commerce sellers. Prior experiences include a software engineering internship at Facebook in 2019, where automation was integrated for backend development, and an internship at Google, developing algorithms for image classification on Cloud Machine Learning Engine. Alan's early career also features work with Hack4Impact, developing educational tools, and an internship at The HDF Group, where capabilities for Apache Spark were enhanced. Alan began the journey in technology as a student researcher at Fermilab, optimizing programs for particle physics analysis. Alan holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, completed in 2019.
