Amre S.

Amre S. is an experienced engineering leader, currently serving as the Engineering Manager for Data Infrastructure at Whatnot since October 2025. Prior to this role, Amre held positions at Airbnb as the Engineering Manager for Data Frameworks and as a Technical Lead, focusing on distributed systems and data processing solutions. Previous experience includes managing AI/ML data platforms at Apple, optimizing data workflows at SignalFx, and building core infrastructure as a founding engineer at Isovalent. Amre's early career involved significant contributions at VMware and Nicira in building distributed data systems, along with research roles at Duke University and Microsoft. Amre holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from Duke University.
