Laela Sturdy

Laela Sturdy serves as the Managing Partner at CapitalG, where leadership focuses on investing in companies with established product market fit primed for scaling since October 2013. Prior experience includes a role as Managing Director at Google from January 2007 to October 2013, where Laela spearheaded the launch and growth of local and commerce businesses such as Google Offers and Adwords Express. Laela also directed sales and operations for Google’s display and video advertising and provided strategic leadership for YouTube and Google. Earlier experience includes serving as a Case Team Leader at Bain & Company, working on strategic consulting projects across various sectors, and directing programming and marketing for Amnesty International's Art for Amnesty initiative. Laela holds a BA in Biochemistry from Harvard University, an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a Master's degree in Computer Science and Multimedia Systems from Trinity College Dublin.
