Ryan Jaster has a diverse work experience in the field of digital media and journalism. Ryan began their career as a Music Editor at Thirsty.com in 2000, where they wrote and edited music news stories. Ryan then worked as an Online Editor at Quad-City Times from 2000 to 2002, managing the content of various websites. Ryan also held the role of Night Editor at CBS Sports from 2002 to 2003, where they managed content and assigned sections to a team of editors. From 2003 to 2005, they worked at Courier News as a Lead Designer, responsible for designing news and sports sections. Ryan then joined the Chicago Tribune Media Group as a Digital News Editor from 2005 to 2010, where they managed the content of different sections and built the front page of their website. In 2010, they became an Online Editor at Quad-City Times, overseeing the content of their websites. During this time, they also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University from 2008 to 2010. From 2010 to 2017, Ryan worked as an Online Editor at Quad-City Times, managing the content of their web platforms. In 2017, they joined WHBF-TV as a Digital Executive Producer and Assistant News Director, responsible for managing the online content of multiple brands. Most recently, in 2021, Ryan worked as a Digital Producer. Throughout their career, Ryan has demonstrated a strong focus on local breaking news, sports, and weather, and has achieved significant growth in page views for the platforms they managed.
Ryan Jaster received a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from St. Ambrose University, where they studied from 1992 to 1995.
