John Grady

John Grady is a Professor at Wheaton College, where they currently hold the title of William I Cole Professor of Sociology. They have been teaching since 1978 and focus on subjects such as Visual Sociology and Documentary Filmmaking. Previously, John served as a visiting professor at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies from 1997 to 2009, where they taught approaches to documentary field research. They also held the position of past president of the IVSA from 1996 to 1999, during which they planned annual meetings and coordinated membership services. John earned a PhD in Sociology from Brandeis University between 1967 and 1977.
