Nate Thompson, Ph.D., is a highly experienced educator and leader with a focus on outdoor education and community engagement. Currently serving as the Wheaton Passage Director at Wheaton College since July 2021, Nate oversees the orientation program for over 600 new students annually. With experience as a PhD Mentor at Columbia International University, Nate guides doctoral candidates in developing defendable dissertations. Previous roles include a River Guide at Nantahala Outdoor Center, a Part-Time Assistant Professor at Kennesaw State University, and various teaching and administrative positions at Columbia International University. Nate holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Group Dynamics from Liverpool John Moores University and a Master of Divinity from Columbia International University, among other degrees.
