Alex Elegudin

Alex Elegudin serves as the Director of the Postsecondary Readiness Project at Advocates for Children of New York since March 2023. As Chief Executive Officer of Wheeling Forward since December 2011, Alex has focused on empowering individuals with disabilities through advocacy, mentorship, and support services. Previous roles include Assistant Director for Campus Access at Columbia University from January 2021 to March 2023, Accessibility Chief at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority from June 2018 to September 2020, and Accessibility Program Manager at the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission from December 2015 to March 2018. Alex holds a Master of Public Health from Columbia University, a Juris Doctor from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Brooklyn College.

We know that disability impacts every person’s life differently and work to address each person’s diverse needs. As people adapt to life with a long term disability, Wheeling Forward helps them navigate the health and social service systems on the way to an active life in the community.
