Toby Deakin

Toby Deakin has a strong background in human resources, with their most recent role being the Assistant Director of People at We are whg. Prior to this, they worked at Midland Heart as an Assistant HR Business Partner, at Gardner Denver as an HR Generalist, and at Sense and Sanctuary Group as an HR Services Administrator. Toby's experience spans from 2012 to the present, with a progression in roles and responsibilities throughout their career.

Toby Deakin completed their BSc (Hons) in Management & Psychology at the University of Leeds from 2007 to 2010. Toby then pursued an A Level degree at Cadbury Sixth Form College from 2005 to 2007. Toby furthered their education at Worcester College of Technology, where they obtained a CIPD Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management (Level 7) from 2012 to 2014.

In terms of additional certifications, Toby earned their HR Business Partner Development - Masterclass certification from CIPD in October 2018. Toby also became a Mental Health First Aider certified by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England in November 2018. Additionally, Toby obtained the Thomas International Personal Profile Analysis (PPA) Practitioner certification from Thomas International in October 2021, followed by the Insights Discovery Client Practitioner certification from Insights in April 2022. Most recently, they acquired the Carbon Literate certification from The Carbon Literacy Project in March 2023.
