Doug Avery

Doug Avery has been working in the tech industry since 2005. Doug began their career as a Web Manager at Marymount University before taking on freelance work at Cartoon Network in 2007. In the same year, they became a Web Designer at Silas Partners. From 2009 to 2010, Avery worked as a Contractor at OPOWER, where they completed internal tools, mobile features, and a high-fidelity prototype of their software platform. From 2007 to 2018, they worked at Viget, first as a Senior Developer and then as a Front-end Development Director. During this time, they were responsible for setting standards, interviewing applicants, estimating projects, and reviewing new technologies and sales proposals. In 2016, Avery joined Havenly as a Front-end Software Engineer, where they helped define and build the current FE stack of Havenly.com. In 2018, they took on roles at Splunk and VictorOps, Inc. as a Software Engineer and Front-end Engineer, respectively. Currently, Avery is a Front-end Engineer at Whimsical.

Doug Avery attended Marymount University from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. Doug also attended WHEAT, though the duration of their attendance and any certifications they may have earned are unknown.
