Michael Armitt

Michael Armitt (ACA) has a strong background in finance and corporate finance. Michael started their career at Grant Thornton LLP, where they worked as an Audit Executive and later as a Corporate Finance Executive. During this time, they gained experience in conducting audits for various companies and preparing audit deliverables.

Michael then moved to General Motors, where they took on roles as a Retail Finance Analyst and an Investment Manager. In these positions, they were responsible for financial business cases, monitoring retailer performance, and assessing potential new investments.

In 2014, Michael joined Whitbread as a Commercial Finance Manager and later became the Lead Operations Finance Business Partner. In these roles, they focused on driving operational performance and managing financial responsibilities for operations across a large hotel estate.

In 2017, they transitioned to Premier Inn as the Head of Finance, overseeing operations and financial planning and analysis.

Currently, Michael is with Whitbread as the Head of Finance for Property, and previously as the Head of Finance for Acquisitions UK & Germany.

Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated leadership, financial analysis skills, and the ability to drive positive results.

Michael Armitt completed their ACA qualification at ICAEW from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a BA (Hons) degree in Marketing from the University of Stirling, graduating with a 2:1 classification in 2004.
