James Brown is currently the MEP Project Manager at The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. Prior to this position, James worked as an Assistant Project Manager/Estimator at W.M. Schultz Construction, Inc. from May 2013 to December 2013. In this role, James assisted multiple Project Managers with a series of projects, assembled submittals to be sent to the project engineer, assisted in the production of change orders and pay summations, and assisted the estimating department by doing quantity take-offs on large scale Heavy Civil projects. James also designed a new asphalt parking lot for the main office of W.M. Schultz Construction during their time there.
Before working at W.M. Schultz Construction, Inc., James worked as a Field Administrator/Engineer at Monroe County Water Authority from March 2012 to August 2012. In this role, James worked as a field inspector on a lawn restoration contract and handled all responsibilities within contract including but not limited to, customer issues, inspections, jobsite meetings and payment applications. Additionally, James inspected new water main, hydrants, and valve installations while working at Monroe County Water Authority.
James Brown has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology. James is certified from OSHA in 30-Hour Occupational Safety and Health Training in Construction Safety and Health, Pennsylvania in Civil Engineering EIT, and American Concrete Institute in ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I.
They work with Jack Breese - VDC Project Engineer, Steffany Castro - Interiors Project Manager, and Gus Garcia - Core & Shell Project Manager. Deanna Tam - MEP Project Engineer, Tony Huang - MEP Project Engineer report to James Brown. Their manager is Chris Dockstader, Lead Project Manager.
