Anne Byrd

Anne Byrd has a diverse work experience in the field of museum interpretation and education. Anne has worked at various prestigious institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Antenna Audio, the School of Visual Arts, University of California, Berkeley, and the Costume Institute, Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Anne has held roles such as Director of Interpretation and Research at the Whitney Museum, where they managed a team responsible for creating museum materials, training guides, producing audio guides, conducting research, and collaborating with various departments. Prior to this, they worked as an Interpretation Consultant at the same museum.

At Antenna Audio, Anne started as a Creative Department Assistant and later was promoted to Creative Manager. Anne then served as a Senior Creative Manager and a Freelance Writer, specializing in producing audio guides for several museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Royal Academy of London, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

In addition to their work at the Whitney Museum and Antenna Audio, Anne was a Joan Tisch Teaching Fellow at the Whitney, where they conducted tours and developed strategies to engage visitors with both popular and challenging artworks. Anne also worked as a Visiting Lecturer at the School of Visual Arts and a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley.
