Madeline Smith

Madeline Smith is a seasoned professional in the field of art conservation and museum management, currently serving as the Manager of Permanent Collection Information and Time-Based Media Acquisitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art since December 2023. Prior experience includes roles such as the David Booth Media Conservation Fellow at The Museum of Modern Art and the Postgraduate Fellow in Time-Based Media Conservation at Yale University Art Gallery. Smith began her career in audiovisual archival support at New York University, and has held various internships and assistant positions across prominent institutions, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum and The Phillips Collection. Smith holds a Master of Arts in Moving Image Archiving and Preservation from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and American Studies from the University of Virginia.
