Mitchell D. Nelson

Mitchell D. Nelson, DIA, CLTC, has an extensive background in the financial services industry, particularly in disability insurance and employee benefits. Starting as an Employee Benefits Sales Representative at MetLife from June 2004 to March 2010, Nelson assisted health insurance consultants with ancillary benefit offerings. In October 2011, Mitchell co-founded MDP Consultants, which focused on providing unbiased disability insurance planning for individuals and businesses until its merger with Secura Consultants in April 2020, where Nelson served as Executive Consultant and then President, enhancing financial advisors' risk management efficiency. Currently, Mitchell is the VP of External Sales at Wholesure and Founder of the Disability Risk Management Network, a LinkedIn group aimed at educating financial professionals on disability risk management. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from the University of St. Thomas.
